Staking calculator
SOL staking rewards calculator — what would you earn?
Enter an amount, an assumed APY, your validator's commission and a period, and get an epoch-compounded estimate of staking rewards. Yield is variable — this is an estimate, never a promise. Guides on how to stake, choosing a validator and taxes are linked below.
Yield varies with inflation, stake participation and MEV — nothing here is a promised return. Compounded per epoch (~146 epochs/year).
How this calculator works
- Compounding is applied per epoch (~2.5 days, ~146 per year). Real accrual timing varies slightly with your delegation.
- Validator commission is taken out of rewards only — never your principal.
- Everything is denominated in SOL — no price assumptions, and nothing here is investment advice.
FAQ
What APY does SOL staking pay?
It moves constantly with network inflation, stake participation and MEV distribution. There is no fixed rate — that's why this calculator asks you to enter an assumption. Check your validator or a staking dashboard for the current figure.
When are staking rewards paid?
Rewards accrue automatically every epoch (roughly 2–3 days) and compound into your stake — no claiming needed.
Is staked SOL locked?
Unstaking takes effect at the next epoch boundary after you deactivate (usually within a few days). Liquid staking (JitoSOL/mSOL) keeps you liquid, but carries its own risks.
Are staking rewards taxed?
In most jurisdictions rewards are taxable income at the value when received — rules differ by country, so check local guidance or a professional. Our Japan guide covers the NTA's published position.
